Kakamega Homeboyz head coach Bernard Mwalala says he anticipates a tough match when his side takes on Nairobi City Stars in an FKF Premier League (FKF-PL) match on Monday afternoon at the Ruaraka Grounds. The two teams face off in Nairobi, three days after they played each other in the first leg at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega. City Stars came from two goals down in that game to secure a 4-4 draw in a pulsating match that pitted Nicholas Muyoti against his former employers. The draw denied Homeboyz a chance to open an eight-point gap at the top an advantage that would have boosted their goal of winning the FKF Premier League this season. Mwalala has made it clear that e wants to end the Gor-Tusker recent years dominance in the local scene. On Monday, the two teams lock horns again, this time in Nairobi and Mwalala anticipates a far from comfortable game. He foresees a tough game but remains confident as they have been doing well on the road as well. We’ll play away to Nairobi City Stars on Monday 24th.Another top of the table contest. #WeAreHomeboyz#AbanaBeingo#MozzartBet pic.twitter.com/jH5uqUapsc— Kakamega Homeboyz FC (@FcHomeboyz) January 22, 2022 “It will still be a tough match but this season we have been winning home and away and that is possible even in this game,” he told DN.Reflecting on Thursday’s draw against Simba wa Nairobi, Mwalala said they allowed their opponents back into the game through poor defending. He adds that they have since corrected the mistakes ahead of the return leg on Monday.“We allowed them to come back into the game by poor defending but with the return leg coming only three days later, we have corrected our mistakes and will fight for a win,” he added. The Ruaraka showdown starts at 3 PM.
