A near perfect first half performance by KCB was all they needed to narrowly beat Posta Rangers 2-1 at the Kasarani Annex and halt a debilitating three-game winless run.The result, that also ended Rangers seven game unbeaten streak consequently thrusts the title hunting bankers back to the Football Kenya Federation Premier League top three bracket.Prior to kick off, Zedekiah Otieno made changes to his backline introducing Robinson Kamura who had been suspended in the last two matches at the heart of the defence while David Okello started in between the sticks. KCB, perhaps under the pressure to arrest three-game run pressed the gas pedal from onset but seemingly struggled to breach the Rangers wall that proved equal to the task. Rangers who have been playing free flowing football in the previous rounds struggled to string passes together and had to use the flanks to have a sniff at the KCB goal. A school boy error by David Cheche Ochieng allowed Henry Onyango to give KCB the lead in the 27th minute. The experienced defender failed to clear the ball leaving Onyango with an easy task of firing to the left corner. The lead didn’t last long as Rangers drew level in the 36th minute through Timothy Otieno who reacted quickest in the box to beating the advancing David Okello to kiss the back of the net. Another error by Cheche who was already in the referee’s book for a dangerous tackle on Nashon Alembi saw KCB regain the lead as Derrick Otanga dispossessed him in the box before beating Opiyo from close range with a minute remaining in the first half. Cheche paid for the two errors by paving way for Bernard Ondiek before restart where the latter partnered with Kennedy Owino at the heart of the defence. Both teams made changes in the 62nd minute where Zico brought in Samuel Mwangi and Michael Oduor for Simon Munala and James Mazembe while Rangers introduced the duo of Chrispinus Onyango, Victor Ndinya and Caleb Olilo and Jackson Dwang respectively. The changes by Okumbi brought the much needed spark in the Rangers forward line that caused the KCB rear all sort of problems but couldn’t send the ball into the net.KCB XIDavid Okello, Nashon Alembi, Baraka Badi, Dennis Odhiambo, Brian Ochieng, Michael Mutinda, Derrick Otanga, Henry Onyango, Simon Munala, James Mazembe, Robinson Kamura, SubstitutesGabriel Andika, Rama Mwenda, Harun Thomas, Ronald Reagan, Michael Oduor, Brian Wepo, Mohamed Kilume, David Simiyu, Samuel MwangiPosta Rangers XIKelvin Opiyo, Dinken Mwema, David Ochieng, Kennedy Owino, Michael Apudo, Victor Majid, Vincent Wasambo, Brian Marita, Caleb Olilo, Jackson Dwang, Timothy OtienoSubstitutes Jairus Adira, Joshua Nyatini, Victor Ndinya, Calvin Odongo, Sammy Meja, Chrispinus Onyango, Eliud Lokuwam, William Odero
