Kariobangi Sharks head coach William Muluya has downplayed his team’s title chances this season saying he does not want his team to get excited.Sharks moved to second in the log on Sunday when they mauled Sofapaka 3-0 at the Kasarani Annex. Goals from Boniface Onyango, Fortune Omoto and Felix Oluoch helped Muluya’s charges move to second in the log, they are four points behind leaders Homeboyz who play City Stars on Monday afternoon.Sharks had to rebuild at the start of the season after they lost a big chunk of experienced players. This however did not derail them as they look as solid as they were last season and have proved their credentials with wins over big guns like Tusker, and AFC Leopards.Despite the good run, Muluya refused to be drawn into title talks. He said that it is too soon to talk about his team clinching their maiden league title.⏹️ Full TimeAnother impressive performance from the boys.#WeAreSharks #BetwaySharks pic.twitter.com/vuHL8orCQP— Kariobangi Sharks FC (@k_sharksfc) January 23, 2022 “I wouldn’t want to delve much into our chances at the title at this stage, given that we still have a lot of matches ahead of us,” he told the Star.Muluya further warned his players against excitement. He wants his charges to approach each game with the seriousness that it deserves and keep winning a game at a time.“All I can tell my players is that we should take each match at a time so that we don’t let the excitement of title contention draw our attention from the most important thing, which is to win each of our subsequent fixtures,” he added.Next for Kariobangi Sharks is a home match against an equally revamped Bidco United.
