Kakamega Homeboyz and City Stars play to another draw

League leaders Kakamega Homeboyz and Nairobi City Stars played to yet another draw at Ruaraka, this time recording a 1-1 draw.Gaetan Masha scored in his Kakamega Homeboyz debut but Rodgers Okumu grabbed the equalizer for Simba Wa Nairobi.Nicholas Muyoti hailed the fighting spirit of his charges for the point earned.”I thank the boys. Shortly, Homeboyz had their chances as well from consecutive corners but they could not score to make it count.The hosts preferred short passes, Peter Opiyo and Sven Yidah being the conduit that facilitated the flow between the defenders and the attackers, while Mwalala’s side was brief on the passes and did well on long balls.David Okoth was a constant threat, boasting a high workrate and lethal shots but could not find the opener in the first half. Abdallah Salim had another chance to strike home after a failed clearance from a corner but his half-volley went miles over the bar.Second halfOn resumption, both teams came back with hopes of overpowering the other and bag all three points.City Stars were the first to make a change as Eric Ombija came on for Odera, with Mwalala responding by resting Stephen Opoku and bringing in new acquisition Gaetan Masha for his debut.Muyoti further brought in the speedy Rodgers Okumu for Davis Agesa who had failed to tick in the second half.Masha was up for a David and Goliath battle, as he came up against the two tall players in Kennedy Onyango and Salim Abdalla but his treachery came to his aid.Okumu had the chance to make it 1-0 after spotting David Juma off his line but his effort went wide. Gaetan Masha had a dream debut, starting off a move and being on the end of it to break the deadlock.The substitute floated in a ball from the right which was tipped back into play by Osano.
