Akhulia impressed with his improving Bidco stars after dogged start

Bidco United head coach Anthony Akhulia has noted the improvement in his side after what was a very difficult start to the 2021/22 FKF Premier League campaign. After a good debut campaign, many anticipated that the Thika-based side would be competitive this season but that has not been the case. They started the season poorly although they now appear to be finding their foot. They have not lost in the last four matches, with three of the game ending in one-all draws.United were known to be very solid at the back last season but that has been their major weakness this campaign where opponents have found it easy to score against them. Despite not registering wins consistently, Akhulia believes that they are on the right path. He says that his team is improving generally and is confident that they will get better.“We are improving as a team in general. We are defending better, our midfield looks good and we are also improving in the attack. It has been a journey of hard work and fighting as a team. We are not yet there but I am confident that with more training sessions and matches we will get better and better,” he stated. The points were shared in Thika when @BidcoUnited & @OfficialGMFC settled for a 1-1 draw. Both sides found the back of the net from penalties. The result denied Gor the opportunity to go second while Bidco are thirteenth after today’s outing #FKFPL pic.twitter.com/RFX5Cgetaz— FKFcaretaker (@FKFcaretaker) January 23, 2022 Reflecting on back-to-back one-all draws against Gor Mahia the youthful tactician says he believes that they would have done better in bot matches.“We played well in both games, in the first one as I said earlier we were robbed, Gor Mahia were awarded a late penalty that should never have stood, in the second leg we created so many chances in both halves but we failed to convert them and in the end, we shared the points, had we converted the opportunities then we would have won the match,” he added.Next for Bidco is a match against Kariobangi Sharks.
