Aussems impressed with Nigerian forward’s form

Nigerian import Fasanami Ojo Olaniyi looks to have found his scoring boots after netting in successive wins over Mathare United with his form impressing his head coach Patrick Aussems. Ojo joined the side just before the closure of the offseason transfer window and endured a long barren spell before scoring in back to back games against Mathare United. #OursForever pic.twitter.com/kn3ZJsWfUu— AFC Leopards (@AFCLeopards) January 24, 2022 Aussems who stored faith in the burly forward despite not finding the back of net opened up on his words of encouragement to Ojo as he bemoaned his thin squad. “I told him that sometimes you can stay five or six games without scoring and come to score five or six games in a row and I’m happy that he scored the second goal in a row but that is the work of the whole team. I don’t have a lot of options we have played with 12 or 13 players so now it’s time to think about rest because it always the same players who have played,” said Aussems. AFC Leopards Nigerian import delighted with scoring streakIngwe were struggling for goals in the opening quarter of the season with Ojo being the only recognized forward in the books of the club. AFC Leopards will head for a one week break with their last clash being on Sunday and next face Bidco in the first Saturday of February. 📷 THROUGH THE LENS Mathare United 1 AFC Leopards 2Eugene Mukangula ⚽️Ojo Olaniyi ⚽️#Betsafe #OursForever #INGWE pic.twitter.com/UZzUsgrmhA— AFC Leopards (@AFCLeopards) January 24, 2022 The Nigerian’s goal on Sunday helped claim all three points for Ingwe having to come from behind again after Eugene Wethuli opened the scoring for the Slum Boys. Ojo will hope to extend his goal scoring streak when Ingwe take on Bidco United on Saturday 5 February.
