Forgotten man Njeru links up with Wazito after one-year injury layoff

 Wazito FC have announced the return of midfielder Anthony Njeru after a one-year layoff with a knee injury.The defensive midfielder underwent a knee in November 2020 and has been on the recovery ever since. The club has now released a statement confirming that the player is back with the group and will be available for selection.“He is back! Anthony Njeru is back training with the team after a nine-month injury layoff. The midfielder had been sidelined after undergoing a torn ACL op. Karibu tena Anto!,” read the statement posted by the club.Wazito team manager Dan Owino termed his return a big boost for the team as he will give the team options in the middle of the park.“Anto is back with the team. He has recovered fully from his injury and we are glad to have him back with us. There are areas that we to boost and the good thing is that the management has promised to back us in the window. We have earmarked some players that we want to bring on board and once we are done with the talks we will go public with the same but yes we have to boost the squad that we have,” Ambani said after Monday’s 1-1 draw against Bandari in Kasarani.Next for Wazito is an away game against Ulinzi Stars in Nakuru.
