FKF Caretaker Committee sends stern warning to clubs

The Football Kenya Federation Caretaker Committee has threated to take action on top flight clubs whose fans invade pitches during matches and also those that lack properly equiped matches during their home games. In different memos sent to clubs, the Committee, through the head of Secretariat Lindah Oguttu, said that actions would be taken on clubs found to contravene the two issues.Rudini stadium….😊@UlinziStarsFC @kenyapolicefc @FKFcaretaker pic.twitter.com/68Buwndi6Z— Lindah Oguttu (@lindahoguttu) January 19, 2022 Oguttu noted that the failure of clubs to keep supporters off the pitch, unless for crowd safety, would see them invite consequences including playing in empty stadiums, monetary fines, and a ban from staging matches at the particular venue.First memoFollowing a concern raised by the management of the Nyayo National Stadium, the FKF Caretaker Committee wishes to advise clubs to warn their fans against invading the pitch before, during, and after football matches. Kindly note that pitch invasions by fans, for any reasons other than crowd safety, contravene Rule 9.1.2.12.1 of the Rules and Regulations of Kenyan Football (2019) and, Article 16 Clause 2 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code (2019).These rules also emphasize clubs’ responsibility in controlling their own fans and, other sections of the referenced rulebooks provide clear guidelines on the home team’s responsibility to make adequate security arrangements during matches.Failure by a club to adhere to these conditions will invite dire consequences not limited to empty stadium bans, a ban from hosting matches at a particular venue (s), and monetary fines. The financial aspect bit aside, matches in the Kenya Women Premier League should have at least 2 well equipped ambulances as well. And the medics should be as proactive as they during the men’s matches. The ambulances to have Advance Life Support equipment with Basic Life Support being the acceptable minimum.2. A stand-by ambulance service to be in place.3. A minimum of 8 trained and qualified paramedics in medical emergencies management.4. The ambulance personnel to be fully vaccinated against COVID 19 and must possess a COVID – 19 vaccination certificate.5. The ambulance must have a good communication system.6.
