Women Premier League (WPL) side Zetech Sparks face a tough test in league leaders Vihiga Queens on the weekend but head coach Bernard Kitolo maintains that his side will be no pushover. The varsity side is coming off a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Kangemi Ladies while the three-time champions Vihiga Queens played for a barren draw against Gaspo Women in their last outing. ##EDITORS_CHOICE##The last time the two sides met in 2019 when the league was still unified in 2019, Vihiga won 1-0. On paper, the Boniface Nyamunyamu-coached side remains favourites. “They (Vihiga) won the last encounter late in the match due to a lapse in concentration from my keeper. We still have an edge over us as we are looking to strengthen our goalkeeping department but it will be no walk in the park. We have trained well knowing we are up against the league leaders who remain unbeaten and they will come hard at us. Two players will sit this one out due to injury but I believe we have a chance at picking maximum points. Anything is possible in football,” said Kitolo. Meanwhile, Vihiga’s Boniface Nyamunyamu has confirmed that seven of his players who are currently in camp with the national team, Harambee Starlets, will be available for the match. The CECAFA Club champions are looking to extend their unbeaten run to seven matches. This season, the side has only dropped points I the draw against Gaspo. “Zetech are a tactical team so we will have to have an approach that gives a fighting chance for the win. Having the players in the national team camp available enables us to present a winning squad for the match,” said Nyamunyamu.
