The Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) managerial carousel continues with Nzoia Sugar appointing Salim Babu as their new head coach taking over the reins from Ibrahim Shikanda.Babu’s immediate task will be to ensure the team retains its status in the top flight after battling relegation all season owing to their poor performances. Nzoia Sugar confirmed the news by posting on their official Facebook page a photo of Babu signing a contract and another posing for a photo with the club jersey.“Meet our newly appointed head coach Salim Babu. He is officially ours,” read the caption that accompanied the social media post. Babu joins Nzoia from Kisumu All Stars who have posted mixed results in the National Super League (NSL) due to financial constraints that has seen the team struggle to honour games. Shikanda walked out of the team citing frustrations from unnamed quarters in the club and the awful start of the season that sees them occupy the Promotion/Relegation slot. Following Shikanda’s exit former skipper Peter Gin was appointed the interim coach but failed to win a single game, having come up against KCB, Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards, Wazito and twice against FC Talanta.
