After bagging his first two goals of the season last week, AFC Leopards forward Fasanami Ojo Olaniyi has set himself an ambitious target of bagging the Top Scorer’s award come to the end of the season. Ojo endured a lengthy barren spell after signing for Ingwe before the start of the season but broke his drought by netting in successive games against Mathare United last week. pic.twitter.com/tAHJIFMAqy— AFC Leopards (@AFCLeopards) January 24, 2022 Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Ojo revealed that just like every forward his dream is to land the Golden Boot gong and will work hard to ensure he finds the back of the net more regularly. “Every striker’s target is to be the highest goalscorer in the league and I would say that is my aim too, this season. It is very unfortunate that I’m scoring my first goal in like 10 games but in football that happens sometimes but I will keep pushing myself to move forward,” said Ojo. The Nigerian forward repaid the faith instilled in him by Patrick Aussems by scoring in back to back games against the Slum Boys with the Belgian tactician starting him in almost every match. 💪💪💪 pic.twitter.com/IGLjQN2e5m— AFC Leopards (@AFCLeopards) January 24, 2022 AFC Leopards will resume league action with a clash against Bidco United on Saturday 5 January with Ojo noting that the aim is to collect three points. “The only thing I’m focusing on is the three points let me not talk about myself, let me talk on behalf of the team we need three points. If I score that will be fine but I think what will be most important is getting the three points which will help the team climb up the table,” added Ojo.
