As one of the richest clubs in the world, Paris Saint Germain always aims to bring top players and compete for the Champions League. The Parisians were true to their goal in June transfer window and brought some top players, including the best in the world – Lionel Messi. But that came with the price. With only two days remaining in the January transfer window, the Parisians are yet to buy anyone. And they probably won’t, since they have a strong squad already, but in order to balance the books, they actually need to sell players. The problem is, many of them don’t have the same value they once had, and PSG will surely sell them for less that they paid. But also, they are all on big wages and they are reluctant to sign to another club for less. Not to mention the lights of Paris and a charm of this metropole. But, PSG might yet manage to offload some players in the next two days, and here are some of them. More Tottenham-PSG business on the horizon – potential midfielders swap between two clubsGeorginio WijnaldumHe came as one of a number of free agent acquisitions this June, but the players like Idrissa Gueye or Leandro Paredes all ended up before in the first 11. He was frustrated and admitted so, but it doesn’t seem that he will be a starter soon, so he might leave the club on a loan. There are suitors (basically every Premier League club apart from the first four teams), but the question is does PSG want to let him leave for the next four months?Leandro ParedesIf they let him leave, Wijnaldum is staying for sure. Paredes is one of high earners who would trim the wage bill, but are there suitors? A possible last minute swap with Tottenhem is being mentioned, since Pochettino wants to bring Conte’s out of favor Tanguy Ndombele, which he brought in 2019 while coaching Tottenham. If the deal is off, there will be hardly a market for former Roma player. (1.57) OLYMPIQUE MARSEILLE (3.90) MONTPELLIER (6.25)Julian DraxlerAnother player with high wages, who settled in Paris and doesn’t really fancy a move is the German international. The Parisian would love to offload him, and if not Paredes, they hope the German will be thrown in the mix for a Ndombele’s deal. Still 28 and a Germany international, Draxler would offer Conte and co some much-needed creativity in attacking midfield.Mauro IcardiEvery transfer window, Icardi is on the move and every transfer window he ends up staying in Paris. The Argentinians just love the City of Lights (as Di Maria recently admitted) and Icardi is no exception. Along with big wages and his unofficial reality shot with wife Vanda, Icardi has no reason to leave, and that is why this transfer talks are always started by the press, or somebody from the club, and never by him. There was a slight change he would leave for Juventus, in case Morata goes to Barcelona, but the chances are very slim, since the reports from Catalonia are suggesting that Atletico and Barca can’t agree on Morata’s transfer. Cancer survivor Wanjala sends words of hope to NayaLayvin KurzawaHe’s been at the club for 7 years now, and has two more in his contract. Again, there are not concrete suitors, and PSG would be happy to loan him at least, but nobody is interested. He was offered to Chelsea (big wing back crisis) and Newcastle (quality players shortage), but nothing happened so far. He failed to make a single appearance this term, and needs to find a club where he will feature.
