Women Premier League (WPL) title-chasing Ulinzi Starlets were on a roll as they hosted Trans Nzoia Falcons in a league at home at Ruaraka Grounds, picking maximum points to move to third on the log. The military side needed a win to dislodge Falcons from third place and left nothing to chance as they thrashed the visitors 5-1 in a six-goal thriller. Siliya Rasoha who handed the Super Cup and Women’s Cup champions their first win against Thika Queens in the league last weekend, again scored Ulinzi’s second in the 50th minute. Five minutes later, Lanoline Aoko who had provided the assist for Rasoha’s goal got her name on the scoresheet in the 53rd minute. Sheril Angachi and scored three minutes later with Ulinzi’s fifth coming in the 77th minute through Jentrix Kuyudi. Victory for the Joseph Mwanza-coached military side takes them to 14 points, two points behind second placed Gaspo Women and five behind leaders Vihiga Queens. Three-time champions Vihiga beat hosts Zetech Sparks 5-0 while Gaspo fought to see off visiting Wadadia 2-1. With seven rounds played, Vihiga reaming the only unbeaten side, losing two points in a barren draw against Gaspo Women. The Boniface Nyamunyamu-coached side leads the standings at 19 points while Tila Wangui-coached Gaspo are second at 16 points. Meawhile, Nakuru Queens picked maximum points in a solitary goal win over Kisumu All Starlets to move to eighth place from the relegation zone where they were in eleventh place after accumulating five points.
