Newly appointed Nzoia Sugar FC head coach Salim Babu says he will not rush to make wholesome changes as he targets continuity in the team. The former Kisumu-All Stars head coach joined Nzoia Sugar on Friday as Ibrahim Shikanda’s replacement and he is set to take charge of training sessions ahead of this weekend’s league match against Kakamega Homeboyz at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.Despite having his own philosophy and style of play, Babu is taking his time and wants to make progressive changes in the team. He opines that wholesome changes could destabilize the team at a time when they are trying to move away from the red zone.Former Kisumu All Stars head coach Salim Babu has been appointed as @nzoiasugarfc2 Head coach.Photo Courtesy pic.twitter.com/4Doj4s1lkk— Ruth Toto Arege (@RuthArege) January 28, 2022 “This week will be crucial because I will get to understand the players and they too will know what to expect from me as their coach. I do not intend to change much in the team, changes if any will be progressive because I believe that those who have been in charge have done a good job and it is just a matter of trying to bring in my ideas and see what we can achieve together as a team,” he stated. The mid-season transfer window closes on 5th February and asked whether he will be bringing on board more players, Babu stated that beefing up his backline will be a priority as the team has been letting in too many goals.“We may bring onboard a few players but first I have to analyze and understand the areas that need strengthening. However, the team has been letting in too many goals and our backline is an area that we may need to address, we have to do better in that area,” he added.Nzoia have picked just one win all season that came against Kariobangi Sharks.
