Nzoia calm with no departures expected

Nzoia Sugar chairman Evans Kadenge is a relieved man as his side will not be losing any player during the mid-season window and all efforts will now be channeled towards ensuring that the team is not relegated.Nzoia has been the hunting ground of many teams in recent years as they are known for producing new talents. They have been losing players to other teams but they have never failed to replace them with new upcoming talents.A number of FKF Premier League teams have been eyeing some of their players. Nairobi City Stars and FC Talanta were after captain Kevin Juma who is also a Harambee Stars player while new striker Levis Okello was on the radar of the teams like Talanta, Kariobangi Sharks, AFC Leopards among others. The two players will however not be leaving the club much to the relief of Kadenge who last week unveiled Salim Babu as the club’s new head coach. He says the players have agreed to continue with the team at least until the end of the current season.Fixture Update:We will be at home to Nzoia Sugar FC on Sunday 6th, February.3PM Kick-Off.#MozzartBet#wearehomeboyz#AbanaBeingo pic.twitter.com/V1EsoB1xmM— Kakamega Homeboyz FC (@FcHomeboyz) February 2, 2022 “I do not think that we are going to lose any player this window. There was interest in Kevin (Juma) from a number of teams, some teams wanted Okello (Levis) as well but the players have opted to stay put and help the move to a good position in the table. We are not in a good position in the log and all the energy is being channeled towards ensuring that we win matches consistently and I am glad that we are not losing any of our key players this window,” he stated. On transfer business, Kadenge echoed Babu’s earlier sentiments on the need to reinforce the team’s backline.“We are going to bring in some players. Our defence is not so strong, you remember we lost our two key central defenders last year, and right now we are still shaky in that department and we will try to get players who will stabilize that area,” he added.Nzoia will play Kakamega Homeboyz on Sunday in Bukhungu.
