Bidco United head coach Anthony Akhulia has heaped praise on midfielder John Nairuka after he opened his goal-account with the leveller in the one-all draw against AFC Leopards on Sunday. The former Mt. Kenya United and Posta Rangers ace joined United three weeks ago and has so far featured in three games for the club. His first start for the club came against Ingwe at Nyayo Stadium and he capped it with a goal canceling out Robert Mudenyu’s early opener for Patrick Aussems’ charges. In the end, the two teams shared the spoils in the entertaining encounter. In an interview, the youthful tactician was full of praise for the attacking midfielder whom he believes will get better with more matches.“I am really happy with his performance. It was the first time that he was starting a league match for us and he put in a very good performance and capped it with an important goal for us. I believe that he can only get better, he has the talent to be very successful and has the desire to work and improve himself,” he stated.Eric Gichimu who rejoined the club from Wazito FC weeks ago also started the game and he caught the eye of his coach despite missing an easy scoring chance in the second half.FULL TIME AFC Leopards 1 Bidco United 1⚽️ Mudenyu Robert #Betsafe #OursForever #INGWE— AFC Leopards (@AFCLeopards) February 6, 2022 “He played well as well, he keeps improving and I believe that soon we will have the Gichimu we know back. He had a good chance to win the game for us but he missed. I know what he is capable of and we will keep pushing him to be successful,” he added. The tactician appeared satisfied with the point against Ingwe who are yet to suffer defeat at the Nyayo National Stadium this season.“We played well, we went down early in the game and fought back to get the equalizer, we even had chances to win the game but I think a point against AFC Leopards who have proved to be very solid at Nyayo Stadium is good enough,” he concluded.Next for them is a home match against FC Talanta in Thika.
