FKF Premier League leaders, Kakamega Homeboyz have been handed a massive boost after first-choice goalkeeper Godfrey Oputi resumed training after recovering from a mouth-cut.The custodian picked a big cut on his mouth three weeks ago in a match against KCB that was staged in Kasarani. He had to be attended to for a few minutes before being stretchered off, he has not in the team’s last three games which coincidentally have all ended in draws. The keeper is now back in training and is thus in contention to start when his team takes on Mathare United in Nairobi on Saturday afternoon.Coach Bernard Mwalala has confirmed the keepers’ return terming it a big boost for his charges as they seek to return to winning ways after registering draws in their last three league outings.Kutoka kushoto Godfrey Oputi, Eliud Emase, Saaid Alele, David Juma hawa ndio makipa wa Kakamega Homeboyz msimu huu Ligi Kuu nchini 🇰🇪. It was a cut on the mouth that required stitches but he is okay now. His return is definitely a big boost for us because he is a good player, our first choice keeper. But in his absence Steve (Otieno) and Elix (Otieno) deputized well and I was satisfied with their performance,” he told Mozzart Sport.Mwalala remains positive that his team will soon return to winning ways. After the draw against Nzoia on Sunday, the tactician backed his team to come out of the rough patch.“In the 17 games we have played, we were using a lot of energy, every team in every league usually has a bad run and I think it will come to pass. We are however lucky that even in the bad run we have not suffered defeat, we have been drawing and I’m thankful for the point against Nzoia,’ he stated.Homeboyz lead the log with 34 points from 17 matches.
