Mbungo: Bandari is still in the title race

Under fire Bandari FC head coach Andre Casa Mbungo is upbeat and insists that his team remains in contention for this year’s FKF Premier League (FKF-PL) title. The Dockers are winless in their last five matches and have just won three of their last 13 matches. The torrid run has resulted in them dropping off in the title race and are currently 7th in the log with 25 points, nine off league leaders Kakamega Homeboyz.Despite the poor run and murmurs that he could be shown the door if the team’s fortunes do not change for the better soon, the former AFC Leopards coach remains positive. He says all teams go through tough times and is confident that they will turn things around soon by making the necessary amends.“They only need to appreciate the fact that there are moments the going gets tough in the top-flight but that doesn’t mean it’s all over for us. We are still very much in contention for the title given our favourable position in the league standings. I believe we have learned our lessons already and we shall make the necessary amends to our shortcomings before our subsequent fixtures,” he told the Star.Matokeo Ligi Kuu nchini 🇰🇪. The team is without six key players who are nursing different injuries. They are; Faraj Ominde, Keegan Ndemi, Whyvonne Isuza, Johanna Mwita, Umaru Kasumba and Dennis Magige.“Faraj Ominde and Keegan Ndemi are both nursing shoulder injuries while Whyvonne Isuza and Johana Mwita have heel fractures. We’ve been playing well but goals have not been forthcoming because of a blunt attack occasioned by the absence of the regular forwards,” he continued. The Dockers will be hoping to turn things around when they play KCB on Saturday afternoon.
