National Super League side APS Bomet missed the chance to reclaim the top spot on the log after losing 2-1 to visiting Dandora Love at Bomet Stadium as SS Assad saw off ex-premier league side Zoo FC 3-2 at Mombasa. After Fortune Sacco’s win against Mara Sugar on Wednesday, APS Bomet needed to beat Dandora Love to go back to the first place but the visitors had other ideas as they recorded their fifth win of the campaign.Dandora Love started out on the wrong foot as Emmanuel Pala scored an own goal after just 17 minutes to gift the hosts the lead but Chris Oduor did well to cancel the opener 10 minutes later and the two sides headed into the break level.George Onyango struck four minutes into the second half to give Dandora Love the lead for the first time in the game, a lead that they went on to hold on to to the final whistle.APS Bomet had the chance to rescue a point at the death from the spot but Felix Busaka’s penalty was saved.SS Asad 3-2 Zoo FC For the newbies SS Assad, this was the second win since making their debut in the second tier, their first one coming against Coastal Heroes in December last year.In Mombasa, it was a penalties affair as four were awarded but only three were scored.Hamad Abdalla drew first blood for SS Assad 13 minutes before Danson Kiprono missed to equalize from the spot four minutes later, with Abdalla scoring his second for the game from the spot as well with just a minute left to play in the first half.Anayi Machafu took it up from Abdalla in the second half and scored just five minutes after the restart to make it 3-0.However, Zoo put up a strong performance and could have staged a comeback, drawing inspiration from Summy Ggolola’s strike from the spot 52 minutes in the game.Dennis Ongeri scored the other consolation for Zoo with 17 minutes left to play in regular time but they could not find the third goal to at least share the spoils. With the wins, Dandora Love moved up to eighth on the log while SS Assad climbed to 18th.
