Blow to Sofapaka as duo is ruled out of Wazito clash

An out of form Sofapaka will miss the services of Sammy Kiplangat and Wilberforce Lugogo in their Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) clash against Wazito.Kiplangat is currently on the treatment table after suffering an ankle sprain while former Bandari midfielder Lugogo is nursing a knee injury.pic.twitter.com/yOhacA7pCw— Sofapaka FC (@FC_Sofapaka) February 8, 2022 Batoto ba Mungu confirmed that the duo have been ruled out of the clash slated for Saturday 12 February at the Utalii Grounds with injuries.“Sofapaka have two injury concerns in Sammy Kiplangat and Wilberforce Lugogo, who are out due to ankle sprains and knee injuries,” read a statement from the club.Lugogo’s injury, in particular, will come as a big blow to Sofapaka as they look to arrest the slump that has seen them go five games without a win.Sofapaka head coach Ken Odhiambo also confirmed the injury of the duo with players who suffered a knock in their last clash against Kenya Police FC returning to full fitness.“The squad is in good shape despite the recent knocks and injuries. We are pleased to have all the players who had minor knocks after the police match are fully fit for the Wazito match. Odhiambo urges Sofapaka to be ruthless in attackHowever, we will miss the services of Wilberforce Lugogo and Sammy Kiplangat, who are out but doing well with rehabilitation, having sustained knee and ankle injuries respectively,” said Odhiambo.Of immediate concern for Odhiambo will however be their lack of goals as they have gone three games without finding the back of the net.
