Posta Rangers midfielder Cavin Odongo has admitted that the playing unit already miss Stanley Okumbi who is heading abroad to advance his coaching badges. The tactician bade farewell to the players on Thursday, one week after the club announced his departure. The former Harambee Stars head coach is headed to Germany to acquire advanced coaching badges after 11 months at the helm of the Mailmen with the club confirming the news.Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Odongo admitted that the departure of the experienced tactician has had an impact on the team but they will strive to move on.“The loss has affected us in a way because we had a good project between the players and the coach so him leaving has taken us back a little but we have to continue pushing for better results.Moving forward maybe we might cross paths again and develop another project which might lead to better success,” said Odongo. The post-Okumbi life was off to a difficult start as Posta suffered a 3-1 drabbing at the hands of Gor Mahia last weekend as his assistant Collins ‘Korea’ Omondi took over the reins on an interim basis and was later replaced by Salim Ali.Odongo was on the scoresheet in the game as his strike turned out to be a consolation with Peter Lwasa, Samuel Onyango and Sando Yangayay getting on the scoresheet for K’Ogalo.Okumbi ended his tenure on a high at Posta as he produced a masterclass to hand Gor Mahia a 3-0 thumping in the reverse fixture.
