Sharks maul Police to move three points within the reach of log leaders, Homeboyz

Kariobangi Sharks have moved to three points within the reach of Football Kenya Federation Premier League leaders Kakamega Homeboyz after humbling Kenya Police by a solitary goal at the Nyayo Stadium on Friday.Former national U20 midfielder Reagan Odede came on from the bench to score the all important goal in the second half to gift his side ninth win of the season that catapulted them to the second spot.Sharks head coach William Muluya while congratulated his charges for the win, admitted that Police were the better side but noted that an improved show by his boys was all what they needed to repulse their bullets and at the same time fire one past their goalkeeper.⏹️| Full TimeNjege masanse…#WeAreSharks #BetwayShsrks pic.twitter.com/bknviV99rx— Kariobangi Sharks FC (@k_sharksfc) February 11, 2022 “It has not been easy. Technically they have very good players and are very good tactically. I congratulate the players for a strong showing, more so in the second half,” said the Harambee Stars assistant coach. The match was expected to be lively just like the first leg but both teams appeared to play cautiously with no major threat from either team for the better part of the first half.Sharks employed a back three of Bonface Onyango, Tom Teka, and Samwel Olwande with Geofrey Onyango and Fredrick Alushula playing the wing back roles. In a bid to break the human wall mounted by Sharks, Police danger man Clifton Miheso who leads the league’s scorers chart tried to loop the ball to the towering Clinton Kinanga but his aerial prowess was well dealt with.Sharks suffered a blow 32 minutes in when Teka went down injured and had to be replaced by Alphonce Omija who joined Onyango and Olwande in the back three. On resumption, both teams made changes.Muluya introduced Isaac Wasambo and Reagan Odede for Henry Juma and Fortune Omoto respectively while Francis Kahata came on for Aryine Odoyo on the other hand.FTPolice Fc 0-1 Kariobangi Sharks. The shark proved to be heavier on the land than we thought.
