This was Frank Lampard’s third match as Everton new coach, and after that Brentford FA Cup debut win and EPL loss to Newcastle, this was just what he needed – an easy win, the maiden in the Premier League, as Everton crushed very modest Leeds United 3-0 (2-0) at Goodison Park.It was a one-side game straight from the kick-off.Lampard outsmarted Bielsa (©Gareth Copley/Getty Images)Gordon missed a sitter just a minute into the game. He was left unmarked inside the area, but his slow reaction allowed defenders to block his shot, and Meslier enjoyed an easy save. However, he was helpless ten minutes later as the Toffees exchanged several charming passes in the opposing box before Coleman’s tap-in sealed an opener. Leeds defensive line was in shambles which is not much new to EPL’ third-worst defence, which has conceded an ‘impressive’ number of 43 goals so far.On the other hand, Marcelo Bielsa kept warming himself up with a cup of hot coffee by the sidelines, seeming unimpressed with activities on the pitch. Even in the 17th minute, he lacked any reaction when Rodrigo launched a superb long-range effort, which ended on crossbar flying away from Pickford.Soon after, the game was killed with 77 minutes left on the clock, thanks to Keane’s header following a corner from the right. It was Lampard’s set-pieces masterpiece, with the majority of the players rushing to the far post, with Keane placing it effortlessly in the back of the net for 2-0.Iwobi’s charming strike ten minutes before the break went inches wide, and that was almost about it when it comes to this game in terms of exciting moments. The second half was nothing but a lullaby song, interrupted solely for that Richarlison’s beauty near the end to confirm a much-deserved Tofeess’ win.
