Unhappy Omolo demands to leave Turkish club

According to reports emanating from Turkey, Kenyan international Johanna Omolo’s future at Kocaelispor is shrouded in doubt as he wants full compensation for his contract before terminating it.The former Cercle Brugge midfielder last featured for the Turkish second-tier side back on Saturday 8 January in the 1-0 loss at the hands of Umraniyespor.Karşılaşmanın ikinci yarısından kareler. 📷#BALvKS pic.twitter.com/p1RyBqynC4— Kocaelispor (@Kocaelispor) February 12, 2022 Kocaeli, a Turkish news outlet report that Omolo has disclosed to his close circle that the reason behind his poor performance was former coach Mustafa Reşit Akçay’s understanding of the game.The club has asked Omolo to find a new home but the defensive midfielder has demanded that the club settle his contract by paying his dues till the end of the season before he decides to terminate it.Omolo is however currently on the treatment table after picking up an injury in the clash against Umraniyespor where he received a knock on his stomach which led to a tear in his abdominal muscle.The 32-year-old is also reported to be missing training at their camps in both the Izmit and Antalya and is rarely with the team as he missed the matchday squad in their last clash against Balikesirspor on Saturday.📣 MAÇ SONUCUBalıkesirspor 1-2 Kocaelispor #BALvKS pic.twitter.com/K1fnLDvCPg— Kocaelispor (@Kocaelispor) February 12, 2022 Back in early December 2021, Omolo was frozen out of first-team training and sent to train with the Under 19 side with the club issuing no explanation.“Our players Johanna Omolo, İlyas Kubilay Yavuz and Taha Batuhan Yayıkçı have been excluded from the squad with the report of our Technical Committee and the approval of our Board of Directors. Our football players will continue their next studies with our U19 Team,” read a statement from the club.
