Equity FC head coach John Baraza has tipped the experienced players roped in the ongoing transfer season to inspire the club to automatic promotion to the National Super League. The bankers narrowly missed on promotion last season but punched above their weight in the Football Kenya Federation Cup where they finished fourth behind Bidco United, AFC Leopards and champions Gor Mahia.Naivas and SS Assad were elevated to the Super League where the former sealed a place as third tier winners with the latter beating Luanda Villa 2-1 in the playoff held at Camp Toyoyo. To enhance the chances of scaling to the second tier, Baraza lured former Kenyan international Kepha Aswani to the club and further acquired the duo of Luis Tera Misiko and Tyrone Owino who all boast of top flight experience.##EDITORS_CHOICE##”We brought in a number of seasoned players whom.we can build the team around and fight for promotion. They are capable of winning matches and inspiring the rest of the team to fight for positive results,” said the former Kenyan international.Having worked with Aswani previously at Sofapaka for close to four seasons, Baraza is certainly confident of having Sande Katumba’s replacement and a proven goal scorer.Katumba who has previously featured for Nairobi City Stars when the club was languishing in the second tier left Equity a couple of weeks ago leaving Baraza with Derrick Ayisi as the sole forward.Earlier reports had indicated that Katumba had landed trials with Malaysian side Singburi Bangrajun.
