Emperor Jose watching Rome burn along with his credibility

Roma is a club in turmoil yet again and their manager is doing precious little to help them get out of the mire. Jose Mourinho was sent off after another of his angry outbursts towards the end of his team’s 2-2 home draw with Hellas Verona on Saturday night. This guy is supposed to be The Special One. The King. The Emperor of Rome.Jose’s tactical knowledge and ability to turn his team’s into an unbeatable force has taken a back seat. The Portuguese is again the subject of media stories for all the wrong reasons. The former UEFA Champions League winner couldn’t deal with a couple of officials’ calls while his team tried to snatch a win over Verona, so he indulged in a useless rant on the sideline that earned him nothing but a shameful sending off.Jose Mourinho has been sent off for Roma again this season! 🔴He’s lost his cool in stoppage time! pic.twitter.com/WAH20txnQd— Football on BT Sport (@btsportfootball) February 19, 2022 He might have gotten off with only a warning if he were only shouting at the red. But the final straw was when Mourinho kicked a ball up into the air in frustration. Referee Luca Pairetto had no choice but to dish out the red card. The Roma boss responded by gesticulating towards the ref and went to speak to him before being held back by goalkeeping coach Nuno Santos. It was a sad end to what was already a disappointing night for Roma fans. The only thing that the Romanisti can be happy about is that two of their youngsters managed to get off the bench and score goals to salvage a point. Cristian Volpato and Edoardo Bove will remember this match with fondness after scoring for their team at the Stadio Olimpico.Mozzart Bet offers world’s biggest odds in four Sunday matchesTheir boss tried to explain his behaviour by claiming that he’s only got sent off because he cares about the club.”I love these people and for them I fight. I don’t talk is better to go home and have a nice dinner. Have a good Sunday.”This was the third time Mourinho has been sent off since becoming Roma boss. He was given marching orders during the Serie A clash against Napoli. And what’s even more astonishing, he earned a red card in a pre-season friendly match against Betis.Cristian Volpato: “This is something that I said before joining Roma. When people asked me which coach I would like to work with if I could chose any, I always said José Mourinho. That was two years ago. It’s a dream come true.” pic.twitter.com/VaB7EcfndV— Iconic Mourinho🇵🇹 (@Iconic_Mourinho) February 19, 2022 The Special One is still special. But rather than being a winner, he’s now a bit of a special case – a man who is becoming a liability. If the young Roma team can’t rely on their worldwide-celebrity coach, then how can they improve under him and turn Roma into a true force of Italian football? The answer is: it’s impossible. There is some stiff competition for the Giallorossi, but their biggest problem is the man who should know better.SERIE A – Round 26FridayJuventus – Torino 1-1 (1-0)/De Ligt 13 – Belotti 62/SaturdaySampdoria – Empoli 2-0 (2-0)/Quagliarella 14, 29/Roma – Verona 2-2 (0-2)/Volpato 65, Bove 84 – Barak 5, Tameze 20/Salernitana – Milan 2-2 (1-1)/Bonazzoli 29, Djuric 72 – Messias 5, Rebic 77/Sunday14.30: (2.65) Fiorentina (3.25) Atalanta (2.70)17.00: (2.55) Venezia (3.15) Genoa (2.85)20.00: (1.32) Inter (5.50) Sassuolo (9.00)22.45: (2.85) Udinese (3.20) Lazio (2.55)Monday21.00: (6.00) Cagliari (4.10) Napoli (1.55)23.00: (1.87) Bologna (3.50) Spezia (4.30)***odds are subject to change
