Gor Mahia Youth team head coach Jared Odongo was left frustrated after his team registered yet another draw in the FKF Division One league after settling for a one-all stalemate against Avena FC at the NITA Grounds in Kitengela on Saturday afternoon.Heading into the game, the team had registered draws in their opening two games of the season against Zetech Spartans and Kangemi-All-Stars and had hoped for a win against the FKF Division One league newbies at their backyard. They got to a dream starts when Parmenas Ochola have them a first-half lead after capitalizing on the goalkeepers’ error of judgment. The hosts however managed to salvage a point from the game through a Joseph Njuguna stoppage-time free-kick. The attacker superbly curled home leaving the keeper rooted to the grounds. The outcome left Gor Mahia winless this season and Odongo frustrated. He opines that the free-kick that led to the leveler should not have been awarded in the first player as it was his player who got fouled.“The players played well. I believe they gave their best in this game and we deserved to get all the points. We conceded from a free-kick in the last minute and for me, that freekick should not have been awarded to start with because my player cleared the ball, he was the first person to reach the ball and was fouled in the process and I do not understand how it was a foul against him,” he told Mozzart Sport.Mighty Avena vs Gor Mahia Youth FCAttendance better than a couple of #FKFPL teams. pic.twitter.com/9OBMPIFuXk— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) February 19, 2022 Gor had a couple of clear-cut chances in both halves and the tactician believes failing to make them count kept Avena in the game before they snatched a point late on.“That said I believe we would have sealed this win earlier had we taken the chances that we created. We had a good chance in both halves, and these were good chances that should have resulted in goals and a win. The danger of being 1-0 up is that it gives the opponent hope that they can still salvage something from the game and as you see they scored in the 90th minute,” he added. He added that both teams played some good football.“All in all it was a good game, both teams fought well and it was a good game for those who were watching,” he concluded.Gor Mahia senior team head coach Andreas Spier was present at the venue to watch the youth team
