Victor Wanyama’s CF Montreal has acquired the services of experienced Sierra Leone striker Kei Kamara for a season with an option of extending it for a further one year.Kamara returns to the Major Soccer League (MSL) after two years. After leaving Minnesota United in 2020, he joined the Finnish club, HIFL Fotboll, and left one year later. He was part of the Sierra Leone team at the African Cup of Nations earlier this year. They exited the competition in the group stage but got famous draws against Algeria and Ivory Coast.Montreal have released a statement confirming his acquisition. Club sporting director, Olivier Renard explained that they had to make a move owing to a lack of attacking options. He is banking on Kamara’s experience in the MLS to steer his team this season.Kei Kamara was booked for his celebratory twerk this weekend. We’re happy to welcome him to the club,”,” sporting director Olivier Renard said. The 37-year old has scored over 100 goals in the MLS and is one of the ten players to have achieved that feat in the history of the MLS. He had played for ten teams in the MSL and Montreal will be his 11th team.Montreal started their Concacaf Champions League with a first-leg 1-0 defeat against Mexico’s Santos Laguna last Wednesday. The two teams meet again for the return leg on Wednesday.
