Gor Mahia head coach Andreas Spier says he would wish to have striker Benson Omala back in the team and has urged the player to report back.Omala went AWOL in December after a reported fall-out between him and a member of the former club’s technical bench. The club has since sent the Mark Harrison-led bench home and hired German Spier to steady the Gor Mahia ship.Despite the change in personnel, Omala who was a January target for FKF Premier League sides KCB and Nairobi City Stars is yet to relink with the team. It is reported that he in fact relocated back to his rural home in Kisumu.17-year old Schoolboy Benson Omala named KPL Player of the Month. 🔥 pic.twitter.com/pjCRTGTDls— ☯️ (@Limorio_) January 29, 2020 Spier now wants the player back with the team. He says he is yet to see or meet the player and hopes that he changes his mind and returns to the team ahead of the team’s league assignments.“I have not seen him since I came here. I wish to have him here because I want all the good players here in the team and I welcome him in case he changes his mind,” he told Mozzart Sport.Spiers’ reign began with a 3-1 win over Posta Rangers. His second game in charge aborted when Vihiga Bullets refused to return to the pitch after fracases that were witnessed in the stadium between fans and the stewards. Next for Gor is an away game against Bandari in Mombasa.
