Mombasa Elite team manager Ferdinand Ogot has revealed that ill discipline cost former AFC Leopards and national U20, Rising Stars forward Selassie Otieno a place in the team.Otieno joined the National Super League side late last year after months in the cold and was surprisingly released last week only to join the Gor Mahia Youth team that plies trade in the division one league.According to Ogot, the fast-rising forward was let go for constantly running into trouble with the management and in the end, the latter ran out of patience.”His discipline was really wanting and the management decided to release him. He had shown great potential but I am afraid his conduct let him down.” Ogot said. Budding Liberty Academy forward keen to emulate OlungaOtieno who boasts of top flight experience having briefly featured for Nzoia Sugar and Chemelil Sugar after writing his Secondary School exams made his Gor Youth bow in their 1-1 draw away to Avena FC.The player also admitted that ‘issues’ with a cadre of the technical bench forced him out but expressed confidence in settling at Gor Youth and finding his form.At the same time, Ogot confirmed that the club parted ways with coach Muhammed Mchulla thanks to poor performance as the former Wazito trainer had managed to get a win in seven of the final matches the team played under him.H.TRising Stars 🇰🇪 1-1 Sudan U20 🇸🇩Nogh Hussein 16″Selassie Otieno 32″ pic.twitter.com/FOeTS3f6yd— Football Kenya Federation (@Football_Kenya) November 2, 2020 The club hired Benedict Wanjala Simiyu from APS Bomet and despite his experience, he began his tenure sourly, losing 1-0 to league leaders Fortune Sacco.”The performance was not good and thus, we elected to part company.
