Wazito midfielder finally makes comeback after 15 month absence

Speedy Wazito attacking midfielder Kennedy ‘Daddy’ Owino has finally completed his long awaited return to footballing action after the player had been ruled out of the game since November 2020.Back then against Kariobangi Sharks in the season opening fixture of the 2020/2021 Football Kenya Federation Premier League campaign, Owino made his last appearance as he had picked what initially appeared to be a slight knee injury.The knock was supposed to keep him out for a couple of days but hell broke loose when he aggravated it while desperately trying to return to action, a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan revealing that the former KCB man had a torn left leg Anterior Cruciate Ligaments (ACL) that could only be repaired through surgery.After a lengthy injury layoff, Kennedy ‘Daddy’ Owino has resumed training with the first team.Nakuru is happy 😊 pic.twitter.com/FlXSirA0Hp— Wazito Football Club (@wazitofc) February 22, 2022 After initially being hesitant about going under the knife, Owino who had barely been two months old at the club had a date with the surgeon in May 2021 and subsequently began his rehabilitation program after the wound had healed.In a post by the club on Tuesday evening, Wazito announced that the player had completed the full rehabilitation and has already resumed training with the first team.“After a lengthy injury layoff, Kennedy ‘Daddy’ Owino has resumed training with the first team,” the club posted on their social platforms.Wazito midfielder set to resume training in Janury after almost two years outAdditionally, Wazito were handed a double injury boost as Anthony Njeru who also underwent a similar surgery has also started training as well.The timely return of the duo will be good news to the Ricardo Badoer funded outfit who have had a difficult first half of the season. After a poor run of results, the crypto backed outfir fired head coach Francis Kimanzi as the team waddled in and out of the relegation places.Currently, they sit just four points above the drop zone.
