Obino focused despite suffering heartbreak at Mombasa Elite

After bitterly and prematurely calling time to his stay at Mombasa Elite, highly-rated wingback Humprey Obino is hoping to settle at his new home, Murang’a Seal with ease and continue the chase for top flight football among other dreams. Obino was surprisingly axed at Elite last week on Thursday, hours to the closure of the National Super League window but Muranga Seal saved him from being a free agent for the remainder of the season after beating the deadline to acquire his signature.Heads rolled at Elite who previously operated as Modern Coast Rangers in the concluded player transfer window as other players who were shown the door include; former AFC Leopards forward Selassie Otieno, Thomas Wainana, coach Muhamed Mchulla and more than half a dozen players. Why former Ingwe forward left Mombasa Elite for Gor YouthThe youngster who had joined Elite in October last year after passing the week-long trials conducted at Camp Toyoyo grounds narrated that differences between him and an unnamed section of the management orchestrated his axing just five months into his two-year contract.Despite not living up to the expectation of helping the club to gain promotion to the top league as well as the unceremonious release, Obino says the setback will not deter him from giving his best at Seal who are placed third on the second tier log. “It is unfortunate that Elite released me at a time when I was at the top of my game. Everyone at the club was lauding me for the potential I was showing including the owner of the team. I will however continue working hard in my work station in a bid to realize my dreams, ” he said. With the former student at St. Peters, Mumias High School set to face competition for playing from the experienced Ronny Katumanga and Gedion Were at Muranga Seal, he promised to up his game and play regularly for the Vincent Nyaberi coached club.  The rookie who began training with Seal on Friday last week is hoping to make his debut this weekend when they travel Vihiga United at the Mumias Sports Complex.
