Sofapaka boss discusses his team’s target for the season

Sofapaka head coach Ken Odhiambo says a top-five finish is the realistic target for his team this campaign.Batoto ba Mungu have had an on-off season so far but it has generally been better than last season’s when some thought that they would go down owing to the team’s financial struggles that resulted in the players going without pay for a couple of months.Their fortunes have changed this season and so has the performance. They are currently 10th in the log with 24 points, 12 off leaders Kakamega Homeboyz who are the surprise league leaders this campaign.Asked of his team’s target for the season, the former Nairobi City Stars and Bandari FC tactician said they are keen on bettering last season’s performance. The team finished in the 12th position in the log in the 2020/21 season.👊Focused on the Brewers🔜Countdown to Friday’s duel@betikaKe@OyandoRonny#BatotoBaMungu pic.twitter.com/nvOH7oMnvE— Sofapaka FC (@FC_Sofapaka) February 23, 2022 “I want us to finish in the top five positions. I think that’s an achievable target and I can say that as a coach I will be satisfied with that and now it is upon us to keep working hard and improve so that we can achieve that target,” he told Mozzart Sport.Meanwhile, Batoto ba Mungu are set to play Tusker FC on Friday at the Kasarani Annex Grounds, the 2009 champions have injury concerns ahead of the game.”We have two fresh injury concerns ahead of Friday. We lost Brandon Obiero who suffered a calf injury on Saturday while taking on Kariobangi Sharks in a build-up match and definitely will miss the fixture. Geoffrey Ojunga is another concern, having suffered a sprain on his right ankle in one of our training sessions. He is a doubt for Friday’s duel though he will be subject to, a late fitness test. However, we are glad to have Sammy Kiplangat and Wilberforce Lugogo back in the squad,” he told the club website.
