Nzoia Sugar left back Vincent Mahiga has reiterated the players’ commitment in registering the second win of the season and their first under coach Salim Babu when they travel to face Kariobangi Sharks this weekend. The Bungoma based club is languishing deep in the red zone as they have won one of the eighteen rounds of the current Football Kenya Federation Premier League season that resumes this weekend after a two-week long break. Interestingly, they triumphed over Kariobangi Sharks in the first leg held at Sudi Stadium and will be looking to bag their second win and at least scale for a more safer rank. ##EDITORS_CHOICE##Despite bringing in Babu last month to plug in the gap left by Ibrahim Shikanda who threw in the towel citing personal reasons, the club hasn’t found its winning mojo having shared spoils twice under the former Kisumu All Stars boss. However, Mahiga believes that the preparations they have had under Babu are enough to deliver the three points, their opponents form notwithstanding. “We will have to fight tooth and nail for us to win this weekend’s fixture for the sake of our fans and the coach. He has prepared us well and we it is upon us as the players to win the game for him,” said the freekick specialist. Mahiga who is in his second season at the club having joined from Kakamega Homeboyz in the meantime, said he was he was enjoying life at Nzoia courtesy of the playing time coming his way.The former Chemelil Sugar rarely played last season as Shikanda preferred Dennis Wanjala who moved to Nairobi City in September last year as his first choice left back.”I am enjoying myself here at Nzoia just like I used to do back at Chemelil almost four years ago. I am getting the opportunity to express myself and to help the club get results,” said the former GFE 105 player.
