Wazito FC downed Kenya Police FC 3-2 in an FKF Premier League match staged at the Nyayo National Stadium on Saturday afternoon.Heading to the game, Police had lost their last match to Kariobangi Sharks while Wazito had lost their last two to Ulinzi Stars ad Sofapaka and both teams desperately needed to win.The first chance of the game went Police’s way in the second minute. Clifton Miheso was fouled at the edge of the box, he stepped forward to take the resultant freekick but was denied by Bashir Ssekagya on Wazito goal. Two minutes later Curtis Wekesa dribbled past several Police defenders but his final effort hit the side net.Against the run of play, Wazito went ahead in the tenth minute, Levin Odhiambo delivered a good cross from the left and Eli Asieche did the rest, firing home. Two minutes later he almost got his second in the same fashion, this time Wekesa delivered the cross but Asieche’s connection narrowly went wide.After the early setback, Police started to attack more with Miheso and Elvis Rupia their main men upfront. The pressure paid off when they won a spot kick in the 25th minute after Rooney Onyango was adjudged to have handled the ball inside the area, Miheso stepped forward to level the scores. Six minutes later, Rupia nearly pounced on a loose ball after Bashir failed to pick a Miheso cross but the keeper recovered to save it.Wazito restored their lead in the 34th minute through John Kuol. The defender pounced on a loose ball to head home after Police keeper Ruben Juma had saved an initial Rooney Onyango freekick.A wonderfully executed freekick routine nearly drew Police level in the 41st minute. Francis Kahata put Duke Abuya through, the midfielder crossed the ball for Rupia whose bullet header came off the upright.The visitors stretched their lead further in first half stoppage time through Amos Ekhalie. His long range short was aided home by Police keeper Juma who was taken off before the start of the second half for Job Ochieng.The hosts started the second half strongly as they looked to get back into the game. Francis Kahata, Rupia and Miheso all caused Wazito problems in the opening minutes of second stanza but Wazito backline led by Maurice Ojwang kept them at bay.Police pulled one back in the 66th minute through Charles Ouma after a quick interchange of passes.Wazito keeper Bashir Ssekagya was called into action in the 76th minute to deny Rupia who was through on goal.Wazito managed Police’s late pressure to win 3-2
