Arsenal to announce huge losses, but increase ticket prices for the first time since 2014

They have spent 20 billion Ksh during the August transfer window. They are not playing in any European competition this season. They have been struck, just everybody else, with a Covid pandemic. And they are about to announce their loses. So, the only logical thing to do for Arsenal was to announce the increase of the ticket prices in order to sort their finances. This will be the first increase after 2014, and this decision will surely not be welcomed among the fan base, who won’t get anything in return. Arsenal have been out of title contention for a long time, with FA Cup in the 2019/20 season the only trophy to show for in a long time.Arsenal raise season ticket prices for first time in SEVEN YEARS by 4 per cent as they prepare to announce £100m losses.😂😂 pic.twitter.com/9Jes2BffHG— Eric Ndagijimana (@EricNdagije250) February 28, 2022 But, there is a one lucky ‘catch’ with the ticket increase for the fans, and it’s connected to Arsenal’s defeat. Ironically, Gunners infamously crashed out of the FA Cup in January after a 1-0 defeat from Nottingham Forrest and it will help the fans. According to Evening Standard, the additional cost for current season-ticket holders will be eased for the 2022-23 season by the fact they are due a “cup tie credit”, worth 11450 Ksh. This has been activated because of that FA Cup defeat, meaning supporters missed out on two home Cup ties as part of this year’s season ticket. An average general admission season ticket price will rise from 186000 to 193000 Ksh next season if Arsenal qualify for the Champions League, an increase of 7500. But with the 11450 “cup credit” included, prices would actually reduce by around 4000 Ksh.Watch out United, Arsenal are coming! An injury time winner brings Gunners close to the CL spotIf Arsenal are in the Europa League the average season ticket will rise by 6700 Ksh and if they aren’t in any European competition it’ll go up by 6100. In both scenarios, the “cup credit”, will actually reduce prises for the 2022/23 campaign. So, some Arsenal defeats are more valued than the others, right?
