Kenya Police FC head coach John Bobby Ogola says his team ‘gifted’ Wazito three points after his team went down 3-2 to the Fred Ambani led tea at the Nyayo National Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The law enforcers suffered a consecutive defeat in the hands of Wazito, they had gone down to Kariobangi Sharks a fortnight ago. Goals from Eli Asieche, John Kuol, and Amos Ekhalie for Wazito reduced Clifton Miheso and Charles Ouma’s strike to mere consolation goals.Police keeper Ruben Juma was largely at fault for Wazito’s second and third goals. He first failed to collect a Rooney Onyango freekick from distance allowing Kuol to pounce, the third was even more calamitous as a seemingly feeble strike from Ekhalie found the back of the net after going through his hands.Juma was subsequently replaced by Job Ochieng at halftime, the ex Mathare keeper looked steadier between the posts after coming on. In his post-match interview, Ogola termed the defeat as a gift to Wazito, he further explained that they had to replace the custodian at halftime as he had panicked after making the two errors.Half-timeKenya Police FC 1-3 Wazito FC#Wazito4life pic.twitter.com/3HNhnhP63Z— Wazito Football Club (@wazitofc) February 26, 2022 “We gifted the opponents, whom do you blame for the last two goals? He posed. It’s definitely the keeper. He made mistakes and after which he panicked and that is why we had to replace him at halftime, his replacement played well.” He stated.Despite the high-profile signings that they made at the start of the season and in January, Police are yet to hit the ground running and Bobby says they will keep pushing the players to perform well. A glimpse inside Babu’s coaching masterclass that downed highly rated Kariobangi Sharks“We are okay, we will win but it is for the players to step up, coaches do not play and so what do you do? We will keep hammering it into their heads until they get it right.” He added.Next for Police is a match against Tusker FC on Saturday 5th March.
