Zach Johnson – who will captain the U.S. Ryder Cup team in 2023 at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Rome, Italy – turned pro in 1998 and joined the PGA Tour in 2004. His first victory came that season at the Bellsouth Classic, and he has won 12 times in all, including two major championships, the 2007 Masters and the 2015 British Open.
He has played on nine U.S. teams in international competition as a pro. He played in the Ryder Cup (8-7-2 record) in 2006, 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016. He also played in the Presidents Cup (10-6-1 record) in 2007, 2009, 2013 and 2015. He served as an assistant captain in the past two Ryder Cups.
