KCB assistant coach Godfrey “Solo” Oduor has shed light on why he has taken up the technical consultant and advisor role at FKF Division One outfit Gogo Boys.The club took to their social media pages to announce the appointment of the former Kibera Black Stars coach as a Technical Consultant & Advisor, effective the first day of March 2022.UPDATE: We are excited to announce that @Gogo_Boys_FC have reached an agreement with Legendary Coach Godfrey Otieno aka ‘Coach Solo, to work with us as our TECHNICAL CONSULTANT & ADVISOR to the Club with immediate effect from today 1-3-2022. Welcome to the Club Coach Solo pic.twitter.com/d22K11s3nh— Gogo Boys Football Club (@Gogo_Boys_FC) March 1, 2022 Speaking after the announcement on his appointment, Oduor said that it was a way of giving back to the community he was born and brought up in, adding that he was open to helping all other teams within Kibra.“They approached me to help the team and I could not say no since it’s a team from a place I still call home, Kibra, where I was born and brought up. It’s basically a consultancy gig and I will be focused on helping the coaches on the technical aspect of the game. I am open to helping all the teams in Kibra on an advisory role. It is the only way I can give back to the community,” the tactician said.The experienced coach added that he shares the dream that Gogo Boys have of getting promoted, noting that they have good players who are capable of getting the job done.“I have watched Gogo play and train and they have good players. The target is to get promoted and I think it is very much possible. I am ready to help improve the coaches in their analysis and programming of sessions.
