Kakamega Homeboyz’s FKF Premier League title push has been handed a major boost after midfielder Francis Omondi resumed training.Omondi has been out of action since November after he underwent an unspecified surgery. He has been on the recovery path ever since and in an earlier interview, his coach Bernard Mwalala had expressed fears that the player would not feature for the club again this season. The team has however been handed a timely boost with the player resuming normal training with the team. Mwalala says they will not rush him back and that will wait until he is ready to play and compete again. Omondi is an ex-Modern Coast and Mathare United player.Kakamega Homeboyz midfielder Francis Omondi taking the Covid-19 test like the beast that he is.📸:@Fabian_Odhiambo pic.twitter.com/NH2r68Fiyz— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) May 11, 2021 “Omosh is back training with the team. He got clearance from the doctors and he has started some light training with the team. We cannot push him at this point because he needs time to adjust to training again and we will give him all the time he needs to be back to his best. But the fact that he is training is already a very positive thing,” Mwalala told Mozzart Sport. The tactician further termed Omondi’s return as a big boost for his side. In his absence, Homeboyz have been shipping in goals in almost each and every game, something that was unheard of when he was available for selection”His return is obviously a big boost for the team. He is our first-choice defensive midfielder and we somehow missed. It will be a big boost for us when he is ready to play,” he added.Homeboyz will play Posta Rangers in Thika on Saturday afternoon.
