Wazito FC’s new signing Curtis Wekesa is elated after he opened his goal-scoring account against Kariobangi Sharks FC on Friday afternoon at the Kasarani Annex.Wekesa, who crossed over from KCB FC scored the first goal of the game as the two teams went on to settle for a two-all draw in the match. Wazito got the other goal through Rooney Onyango while Erick Mmata and Geoffrey Onyango did the job for Sharks. For Wekesa, it has been a positive start to his Wazito FC career. He has so far featured in three games. In the first against Sofapaka, he pre-assisted Aziz Okaka’s goal and won a penalty that Elly Asieche missed. In the second game against Police he recorded an assist before finally scoring against Sharks.##EDITORS_CHOICE##This is in sharp contrast to his stay at KCB where he had secured a permanent residence on the terraces and the player is happy to be contributing to success on the pitch again.”I am definitely happy to have scored my first Wazito goal, I was looking forward to getting it and I am glad that I finally broke the duck. Maybe we should have picked all the three points in the game but sometimes football is that way, we have to pick ourselves and focus on our next assignment,” he told Mozzart Sport. The player is also happy to playing week in week out again.”For any footballer, getting minutes on the pitch is important and I am happy to be contributing again on the pitch. I am enjoying my football and I hope that continues for long,” he added.Next for Wazito is a home match against the reigning league champions Tusker FC on Tuesday.
