NSL: APS Bomet welcome Fortune in top of the table clash

Fireworks will be expected at the Bomet Stadium when the promotion chasing duo of Fortune Sacco and APS Bomet will be looking to get back to winning ways after dropping points in the previous rounds.Fortune who sit at the summit of the second tier log with 29 points played Murang’a Seal to an entertaining 4-4 draw in their last game while APS who are third with 27 points lost 1-0 to debutants Naivas. The match promises to be entertaining as Fortune will be seeking to pull clear of their match day opponents and Seal who moved to second after beating Mara Sugar 2-1 last Sunday to take their tally to 27 points. On the other hand, APS know that three points will be enough to send them back to the steering wheel as well as back to winning ways after failing to master a win in the last two rounds.Fortune head coach Nicodemus Omasete said they have rectified the defensive errors that saw them leak in four goals against Seal. The gaffer who is also an active player at the club said the goalkeepers’ trainer had polished his department after noting laxity in the last game. Fortune will be without their left back James Njeru who saw red against Seal.“Playing APS has never been easy but we will give in our best and get the three points. At least we have had time to rectify the mistakes we made in our last game. Of course we will miss Njeru who has been outstanding in the left back position but that will not be an excuse as we have options,” he said.APS who are yet to appoint a new coach after losing Benedict Wanjala to Mombasa Elite will have Darshan Lubembe man the touchline.Bobby Ogolla: Stop the rumours, I am still the Police FC Head CoachThe latter who served as Wanjala’s assistant revealed that he had three injury concerns ahead of the match but remained confident of shooting down the visitors. He said the trio of Dominic Kipkirui, Lawrence Kibet and Joseph Oyugi, were nursing knee injuries and would not be involved in the match.“We have to get back to winning ways at all costs today. The players know that victory will see us get back to the top and that itself is a source of motivation. We have prepared adequately for the game although we will miss three key players,” he said.Naivas welcomes Migori Youth in another NSL match set to be played at Camp Toyoyo, Nairobi.
