Eric ‘Marcelo’ Ouma features as AIK secure cup quarter final in Sweden

Harambee Stars left back Erick ‘Marcelo’ Ouma featured for the full length of the game as his AIK side safely secured their place in the last 8 of the Swedish Svenska Cupen after topping the table in their Group 2 pool that consisted of four teams. In the match staged on Monday night at the Friends Arena, AIK managed to grab the only ticket available from the group as they played to a 1-1 draw against Orebro, a result that pushed them to 7 points. The team got off to the perfect start as 36-year-old team captain Sebastian Larsson found the back of the net just eight minutes after kickoff. The team could however not hold onto their slender lead as Jake Larsson prevented Marcelo’s side from scooping all three points as he scored a late equalizer to force the 1-1 stalemate. While Marcelo enjoyed the full minutes in the game, his team mate and national team compatriot Henry Meja did not get any taste of the action as he watched the entire proceedings from the bench.Following the draw, AIK secured a tie against Malmo where they will go to the home of the reigning Swedish champions. Should they have won the match against Orebro, AIK would have gotten the home advantage.Elsewhere, other Kenyan internationals also have a chance of clinching cup trophies with their respective teams after impressive runs in their competition.Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga is in the Emir Cup semifinals in Qatar with his Al Duhail side after his team beat Al Sailiya 4-1 on Sunday.Quiet outing for Olunga Al Duhail storm in to Cup semisIn Belgium, former Chemelil Sugar defender Joseph Okumu is in the Belgium Cup finals with KAA Gent where the team will square it off with an RSC Anderlecht side coached by former Manchester City legend Vincent Kompany.Joseph Okumu’s Gent to meet Vincent Kompany’s Anderlecht in Belgian Cup final
