Celtic and Scotland legend, Scott Brown has retired from football after a successful career that lasted for two decades.Brown joined Aberdeen at the start of the season from Celtic where he had lasted for 14 years. He a player cum assistant coach but on Tuesday, Aberdeen announced that he was leaving the club with immediate effect to focus on his coaching career.“The 36-year-old, former Scotland captain joined the Club in the summer of 2021 on a two-year deal in a player-coach role. He will now depart the Dons to allow him to focus on his coaching development with a view to taking the first steps in his managerial career when an opportunity arises,” read part of the statement from the club.Brown is a player who was loved and loathed in equal measures. Opponents disliked him while his teammates and club supporters adored him. He also revealed the soft side of the 36-year old that is rarely seen on the pitch. Wanyama and Brown played together for two years at Celtic.“What a character he was! I loved playing with him because it was amazing. It was crazy playing alongside him because he motivates players and gives us that hunger and fire to win ahead of big games. I really enjoyed playing alongside him and other Celtic players. Off the pitch, he is a great guy, humble and funny,” Wanyama said.“Scott is a great guy but on the pitch, he is disgusting to play against but I loved it because we formed a good partnership and we understood each other well. He was also a real Celtic man because he had offers to move to the premier league but he decided to stay which was a good thing”.
