PSG wants to renew Mbappe at all costs, Neymar denies rift with Donnarumma

The storm has not calmed down in Paris. And will not anytime soon. After a defeat from Real Madrid (or from Karim Benzema alone?), the mood in the club is gloomy to say at least. Not only their president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and director Leonardo are under UEFA investigation over their behavior after the game, but the dressing room has become a bitter place. Apart from already unhappy players like Georgino Wajinaldum, they how have a Gigi Donnarumma – Neymar rift and an unhappy Keylor Navas, who was furious after realizing that he won’t play against Real. According to some reports, Mauricio Pochettino is also on a hot seat. Oh, and Kylian Mbappe still wants to join the club which famously knocked them out of the Champions League two days ago. Doesn’t know how to win, doesn’t know how to lose: PSG chief threatened to kill a member of Real Madrid’s staffBut first thing first – Kylian Mbappe. After this painful loss, the PSG brass, led by president Al-Khelaifi are in a full ‘renew Mbappe’ mode. According to L’ Equipe, the World Cup is in Qatar in six months time and Al-Khelaifi cannot imagine that his star player will travel to his homeland to play the competition but not in PSG shirt. Doha wants to keep the Bondynois at any price. Money will therefore be secondary issue. Maybe if PSG knocked out Real and won the Champions League, maybe the loss of Mbappe would be easier, even thou he is the key man for them so far (25 goals and 17 assists in all competitions combined). But right now, they are knocked out of the Champions League, out of the French Cup, they will win the Ligue 1 (but that’s expected anyway), and if Mbappe leaves, what the rich owners have to show for in May? This would be a disaster for them. After reports claimed a fight between Neymar & Donnarumma occurred, #Neymar reached out to Gigi via WhatsApp.”Relax! That can happen in football. We are a team & we are with you. You are still very young & you are going to win a lot! Abrazo ♥️”#PSG #RMAPSG #UCL pic.twitter.com/4csyLZ2txS— Bryan Hernandez ✍️🎙️⚽ 🇺🇸 (@realbryhrndz) March 10, 2022 The only thing which made easier for them was the Donnarumma – Neymar rift, or lack of it. Both players denied the scuffle. In fact, Donnarumma sent the ‘Marca’ story to Neymar, telling him: ‘Hey Ney, I am sorry for yesterday, this news is unacceptable’, to which the Brazilian replied: ‘My friend! This can happen in football’. ‘We are a team and we are all with you. You are very young and you are going to win a lot. React and go on. Hug.’Neymar published one more story where he accused journalists reporting the story of being unprofessional.“I hate having to talk about news… but this previous post is a lie. There was no fight in the dressing room!!! Incompetent journalists are trying to promote themselves. Maybe next time, ok?” wrote the Brazilian.Donnarumma taking the world’s best goalkeeper award ahead of Mendy has to be the most ridiculous thing this sport has ever seen. pic.twitter.com/n3RfdVYNDm— M E L K Y🙃 (@OriginalMelky) March 10, 2022 But the problem at goalkeeper still remains. According to various media, co-keeper Keylor Navas was furious after not being named the starter against Real Madrid. The Costa Rican is somehow used to being rotated with Donnarumma throughout the season (21 appearances to Gigi’s 18), but he was particularly irritated for this game. He spent five seasons at Real, making more than 160 appearances for Los Galacticos and this was his first time back at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium since leaving and still, he didn’t start. It’s safe to say that Navas will leave at the end of the season.
