Sofapaka’s coach laments on the fatigue from Wundanyi travels

With Sofapaka having to travel vast distances for their home clashes in Wundanyi, Taita-Taveta, head coach Ken Odhiambo has bemoaned the energy-sapping journey.Batoto ba Mungu faced Gor Mahia on Wednesday at Wundanyi and travelled back to Nairobi to face AFC Leopards on Sunday but managed to register 1-1 draws in both encounters.🅰️ Said Tsuma⚽Lawrence Juma👌A perfect delivery and a pin point finish by the skipper📺Watch Lawrence Juma’s seventh goal of the season.@betikaKe@OyandoRonny#BatotoBaMungu pic.twitter.com/YJpIIwFH09— Sofapaka FC (@FC_Sofapaka) March 14, 2022 Odhiambo lamented at the long travelling hours the team had been subjected to in the past week but issued credit to his players for their performances under the conditions.“I really want to commend the boys for playing well, we had a game in Wundanyi three days before playing Leopards and the journey from Wundanyi to Nairobi was not easy.When you look at the recovery time having played less than three days ago then you play another tough match against AFC Leopards but I do not live to make excuses,” said Odhiambo.The 2009 Premier League champions had a lot of travelling in the past week after facing KCB a fortnight ago in Nairobi, Gor Mahia in a mid-week clash last week at Wundanyo and Ingwe on Sunday at the Nyayo National StadiumAFC Leopards, Sofapaka share spoils at Nyayo.Odhiambo also provided a short postmortem of their season thus far and boldly claimed that they will suffer no losses in the 13 matches remaining.“I’m not happy with our performance this season, we know our targets and this (league) is a marathon, not a short race. We have around 13 matches remaining and we just have to be calm. The team is playing really well and I am convinced we will not lose any other match,” added Odhiambo.
