FKF Caretaker Committee orders for a replay of the league match pitting Ulinzi Stars and Sofapaka

The Football Kenya Federation Caretaker Committee has belatedly ordered for a replay of the league match pitting Ulinzi Stars and Sofapaka that failed to kick off back in January.Sofapaka had hit the road to Nakuru where they were scheduled to take on the soldiers but declined to take to the pitch citing the standard of the equipment of the ambulance provided by the hosts.The 2009 league champions had been all along petitioning the government-installed committee to award them three points and two goals for the opponent’s failure to avail a well equipped ambulance contrary to the statutes.➡️ Ulinzi Stars FC Family 🗣 “Kwani Admin wetu alienda wapi?”😐➡️ Admin: Typing…😎#WeSoldierOn#GBUS📸 Courtesy pic.twitter.com/Te73xP1m4Z— Ulinzi Stars FC (@UlinziStarsFC) March 11, 2022 However, their pleas have seemingly fallen to deaf ears as the committee has ruled that the match will be replayed but remained coy on the venue,dates and if they will reimburse Sofapaka the costs incurred in honoring the abandoned match.”After review of the match officials’ reports of the abandoned 2021-22 FKF Premier League match 137 between Ulinzi Stars and Sofapaka FC which was scheduled to be played on Saturday January 8, the Leagues and Competitions has ordered a replay of the match at a date that will be communicated in due course,” read the letter from the committee.Ulinzi-AFC Leopards game called offUlinzi have been on the receiving end of criticism for their reported failure in providing an ambulance whose equipment do not meet the required standards on match days despite being deemed as one of the club with deep pockets.Last week, the match between Ulinzi and AFC Leopards was called off after the latter raised a similar concern to that of Sofapaka. Leopards had traveled from Nairobi to Kericho to confront the soldiers but declined to play citing an ill equipped ambulance.Ulinzi who were last month barred from playing their home matches at ASK grounds have since shifted base to Thika Stadium.
