Kevintom Machika came off the bench to score a late goal as FC Talanta stunned Sofapaka 2-1 in an FKF Premier League match that was staged at the Kasarani Annex Grounds on Wednesday afternoon.Heading to the game, both teams were winless in their last four matches and were keen on returning to winning ways. Talanta in particular had lost three of their last four and Ken Kenya’s side was desperate for a win.Talanta started the match more positively and had the a couple of half chances inside the first 15 minutes. The first was a Gerishon Likono freekick that narrowly went over in the sixth minute, he followed it up with a snap shot from the edge of the area four minutes later, he equally missed the target.A quick break from the hosts in the 17th minute yielded the opener. Alex Imbusia raced down the left before squaring the ball to Joe Waithira for a composed finish, a minute later his effort from a Roy Okal cutback hit the upright.The Ken Kenyatta led outfit continued to attack in search of a leveler which eventually came Ina spectacular fashion through former AFC Leopards striker Mohamed Hassan.The attacker controlled the ball before hitting the top left corner with a lovely volley. Francis Kahiro nearly completed the turn around just before halftime but Kevin Omondi did well to save his bullet header.Sofapaka had a great opportunity to go ahead 12 minutes into the second half but star player Lawrence Juma threw away an easy opportunity after being set up by Imbusia. The winger then tried his luck from range in the 68th minute but Kevin Olang on Talanta goal was equal to the task. Olang was called into action two minutes later to parry another Juma stinger.Just as it seemed the match would end even, Machika rose high to head home deep into stoppage to complete Talanta’s comeback.Elsewhere, Bidco United rescued a point after coming from a goal down to hold Kariobangi Sharks 1-1 at Thika Stadium.Sharks scored through Julius Masaba with Lameck Oloo grabbing the equalizer for the hosts.
