Muluya happy with youngsters’ progress despite letting another win slip

Kariobangi Sharks head coach William Muluya has once again reiterated the need for his team to remain focused throughout the entire game after they let in another late goal against Bidco United on Wednesday afternoon in Thika.Sharks had taken the lead early in the second half through Julius Masaba before they were pegged back by a Lameck Oloo leveler for United in the 78th minute, a goal that ensured that the two teams shared the points in a league clash. It has been the norm for Sharks to late in late goals in recent weeks. They let in goals in the latter stages of the game against Wazito, Mathare United and now United something that Muluya believes is down to lapses in his players’ focus.📺| @BidcoUnited Vs Kariobangi Sharks Highlights🤝🏿 @Betway_KE pic.twitter.com/aWzFTQweRx— Kariobangi Sharks FC (@k_sharksfc) March 17, 2022 “We conceded 12 minutes from time and this is the third time that we are letting in a late goal. It points to a concentration issue which we have to work on,” he said.Sharks are winless in their last five league matches. Two have ended in defeats while the other three have ended in stalemates. Although he admits that the winless run is an issue of concern for him, he is happy with the progress that the youngsters that he is giving playtime are making.“It is definitely a concern for us because we started the season well but in recent weeks we have not been winning, we have not picked a win in our last five games. But there is a silver lining in it because we have been giving young players a chance and it is through playing that they will grow. We will however push ourselves in the coming games to return to winning ways,” he added.Next for Muluya’s side is a return leg match against Bidco United. The match will be played on 2nd April at the Kasarani Annex.
