Utterly bizarre: Everton fan ties himself to the post in protest

It can’t get more bizarre than this, for sure! A young man tied himself to the right post at Goodison Park during the English Premier League tie between Everton and Newcastle United. He made his way to the goal post shortly after the second half started and stayed there for more than 10 minutes.Just look at Begovic’s face 😂 #EVENEW pic.twitter.com/mOqFB0Apc6— Proudy (@RProud89) March 17, 2022 Look at the effort from the bolt cutter guy😭😭#EVENEW pic.twitter.com/sHUx7Vh52a— Krishna (@lcfckini) March 17, 2022 A steward brought a massive bolt-cutter, probably the biggest you’ll ever see, but struggled to detach the protestor from the post.“And they’re getting the bolt cutters out.. But who for @chris_kammy…??” “I don’t know Jeff..” #EVENEW pic.twitter.com/XFeYsMnwXw— Dan Greaves (@DiscusDan) March 17, 2022 The havoc eventually ended after they finally managed to dislocate him from Begovic’s right post. The intruder was wearing an orange t-shirt with a ‘just stop oil’ sign printed on it. He was eventually carried from the field by police officers, but only after he threw himself to the ground to prolong the stoppage.Anti-oil protester ties himself to the goalpost at Everton vs Newcastle. Then an Everton fan runs onto the pitch and throttles him.#evenewpic.twitter.com/i8n0Bj2VqX— Sam Street (@samstreetwrites) March 17, 2022 After all that drama, the match resumed.
